The recent orders to work from home, during the Corona Virus pandemic can be challenging for some. Depending on the nature of the business, and your job function(s), this could be exceedingly stressful.
A simple, and easy tip:
Maintain your regular work hours.
If you normally start work at 8:30 am, go to lunch from 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm, and work the remainder of the day until 5:30 pm – then you should try to continue. Obviously, if there are changes to the job, due to circumstances, then this is something that you need to coordinate with your supervisor/manager. The intent would be to: “maintain your regular work hours” as much as possible.
The intent while working from home, is to provide the same services, quality of work product, timelines, responsiveness, etc., – while sitting in a different geographical office.
2nd tip:
For those who use calendaring, update your calendaring application to reflect your work hours. Similarly, update your calendar to reflect “lunch” or “time that you will be away”.
There will be situations where team members do not respect calendaring reservations – but, this will be less often.
